About The Position

This position will be located at the Halliburton Cell division of Vallourec Tube-Alloy in Lafayette, LA. The CNC Machinist is responsible for the setup, machining, and in-process inspection of a variety of items requiring a high degree of skill and proficiency. CNC Machinist – CNC 3 personnel can machine precision components on a manual or CNC machine and perform a variety of machining duties with no direct supervision. This level of machinist could be considered for a lead person role.

Requirements

Ability to machine precision components on a manual or CNC machine.
Ability to perform a variety of machining duties with no direct supervision.
Ability to set up and thread all threads and grades of material on a CNC lathe with no assistance on setup and first article inspection.
Ability to obtain required over-lays and review first article with no assistance.
Ability to set up and operate all CNC machines at the facility location.
Ability to select proper tools and gages for threading or process to be performed.
Ability to adjust machine processes and tooling to optimize cycle time and maintain process control.
Ability to perform CNC editing on shop floor.
Ability to perform necessary mathematical calculations to produce angles.
Ability to understand product drawings and produce parts from drawings.
Ability to help train Machinists at CNC 1 and CNC 2 levels.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate manual and/or CNC machines at a very high level of proficiency.
Set up and thread all threads and grades of material that the Facility is licensed for on a CNC lathe, with no assistance on setup and first article inspection.
Obtain required over-lays and review first article with no assistance.
Set up and operate all CNC machines at that Facility location.
Select proper tools and gages for threading or process to be performed.
Adjust machine processes and tooling to optimize cycle time and maintain process control as well as CNC editing on shop floor.
Perform necessary mathematical calculations to produce angles.
Understand product drawings and produce parts from drawings.
Help train Machinists at CNC 1 and CNC 2 levels.
Perform other duties as assigned.
