About The Position

This position will be located at the Halliburton Cell division of Vallourec Tube-Alloy in Lafayette, LA. The CNC Machinist is responsible for the setup, machining, and in-process inspection of a variety of items requiring a high degree of skill and proficiency. CNC Machinist – CNC 3 personnel have the ability to machine precision components on a manual or CNC machine. This position requires the ability to perform a variety of machining duties with no direct supervision and is a level of machinist that could be considered for a lead person.

  • Ability to machine precision components on a manual or CNC machine.
  • Ability to perform a variety of machining duties with no direct supervision.
  • Ability to set up and operate manual and/or CNC machines at a very high level of proficiency.
  • Ability to set up and thread all threads and grades of material that the Facility is licensed for on a CNC lathe, with no assistance on setup and first article inspection.
  • Ability to obtain required over-lays and review first article with no assistance.
  • Ability to set up and operate all CNC machines at that Facility location.
  • Ability to select proper tools and gages for threading or process to be performed.
  • Ability to adjust machine processes and tooling to optimize cycle time and maintain process control as well as CNC editing on shop floor.
  • Ability to perform necessary mathematical calculations to produce angles.
  • Ability to understand product drawings and produce parts from drawings.
  • Ability to help train Machinists at CNC 1 and CNC 2 levels.

Responsibilities
