About The Position

As a CNC Machinist at VulcanForms, you will operate CNC Lathe and/or Mill Machines to support manufacturing based on skillset and shop demand. VulcanForms operates in an environmentally controlled, state-of-the-art facility committed to producing quality parts for our clients. We manufacture products for several industries, including aerospace, military and defense, satellite, and medical devices. This position is shift-based and is for our 1st shift.

Requirements

4+ years of experience with 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC Milling Centers, 2-axis and multi axis, live tooling lathes, experience with the controls listed in the Key Accountabilities section above.
Ability to read Blueprints and have a good understanding of GD&T
Ability to work in a team environment
Adhere to and enforce the company's health & safety policies and procedures
Adhere to and enforce the company's quality policies and procedures
Good hand/eye coordination

Nice To Haves

Experience with utilizing a pre-setter offline for tool offsets is a plus.
Experience with quick-change tooling is a plus.
Graduate of Advanced Machine Technology Course.
Knowledge of 5S/6S.

Responsibilities

Operate a CNC lathe (including work holding, kitting of tools, touching off of tools/establishing offsets, reading of manufacturing drawings, and first article buy-off) on FANUC, Yasnac, Mitsubishi, and controls.
Operate a CNC 3, 4 or 5-axis Mill (including work holding, kitting of tools, touching off of tools/establishing offsets, reading manufacturing drawings, and first article buy-off) on Fanuc, Yasnac, Brother, and Heidenhain controls.
Operate, set up, and edit programs on the machines within the department.
Periodically inspect parts during production to monitor for consistent dimensional and visual quality.
Continuously monitor equipment and tooling. In the event of a breakdown or other event that would disrupt the process.
Follow the instructions on the Process sheet, Drawings, and/or Programs.
Support training of more junior team members on all aspects of machining.
Helps others identify issues and troubleshoot their work.
Interface/communicate with Quality, Engineering, and other team members.
Maintains the work area and equipment clean and orderly and follows prescribed safety regulations.
