This position requires the ability to perform functional machining operations and basic problem solving. The Machinist must be able to meet and maintain company guidelines by performing essential job functions. Requirements

  • Ability to perform functional machining operations and basic problem solving.
  • Knowledge of the tools, materials, methods, and standard practices of the machinist’s trade.
  • Practical knowledge of reading drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret process work instructions with an understanding.
  • Practical knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments (calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales).
  • Ability to effectively communicate and problem solve within a team environment.
  • Ability to communicate, get along and work well with other employees.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ability to be at work every day and come to work on-time.
  • Ability to pass an annual Eye Exam per QP400.
  • Ability to edit CNC programs to hold tight tolerances.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages and ratios to practical situations.
  • Ability to work with principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include ability to adjust focus, depth perception, peripheral, distance and close vision.

Nice To Haves

  • Develop and edit 3D CNC programs through the use of CAD / CAM software such as Mastercam.
  • Technical degree from a two-year college or university.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate conventional and/or CNC machining centers, including both CNC lathes and CNC mills.
  • Apply knowledge of the tools, materials, methods, and standard practices of the machinist’s trade.
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and process work instructions.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales.
  • Effectively communicate and problem solve within a team environment.
  • Communicate, get along, and work well with other employees.
  • Establish and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with corporate policy and OSHA standards.
  • Be at work every day and arrive on time.
  • Pass an annual Eye Exam per QP400.
  • Edit CNC programs to hold tight tolerances.
  • Develop and edit 3D CNC programs through the use of CAD / CAM software such as Mastercam (desirable).
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Supervisor / Manager.
