The CNC Machinist performs detailed machine setups on 3 and 5 axis machines, has G & M code knowledge, and can run parts with little to no supervision. You are responsible for inspecting each part you manufacture and for overall perfect quality parts. We may have a need to have you assist in other areas of the facility where you may have a chance to learn other shop practices. There is a 20%-night shift premium for this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of CNC machine operation
  • G & M code fluency
  • Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to deal with complexity.
  • Capable of working in a customer-focused, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Interested in learning with, and from, engineering and programming team to improve operations.

Nice To Haves

  • post-secondary CNC education preferred
  • Experience with large diameter, thin wall parts preferred
  • Okuma control knowledge a plus

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently set up, maintain and operate vertical and horizontal multi-axis milling and turning machines to produce high-quality precision aerospace components without supervision.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machine.
  • Able to read operation sheets and blueprints.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, and other staff.
  • Other duties as directed by supervisor.
