About The Position

Turbo Drill Industries Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to operate a VDF lathe with Siemens control on the night shift in Conroe, Texas. The role uses blueprints, sketches, plans, and manufacturing files to produce precision parts. The machinist sets up different types of CNC equipment to meet production goals accurately while maintaining high production rates.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of experience in a job-shop setting, or an equivalent combination of education.
Functional and technical skills.
Demonstrated ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints, including GD&T.
Demonstrated understanding of basic math skills.

Responsibilities

Review work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, surface locations, and machining parameters; interpret GD&T to plan machining.
Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, setting zero and reference points, tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculate requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry, and prove part programs.
Install and adjust chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicate vices and tram heads when setting up mills and lathes.
Verify machine settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample work pieces in accordance with standards.
Monitor machines during operation and make adjustments as needed to improve results.
Detect malfunctions, troubleshoot processes, adjust and reprogram controls, and sharpen or replace worn tools.
Follow quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintain safe operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer instructions, troubleshoot malfunctions, and call for repairs as needed.
Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs between work shifts.
Complete production and quality logs.
