About The Position

Ampco Pumps Company is seeking a CNC Machinist to join its team at the Glendale, Wisconsin location. The company manufactures centrifugal and positive displacement pumps for food and dairy industries, desalination, and chemical and industrial applications. This is a second-shift position with a four-day work week, Tuesday through Friday, from 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The company is willing to train a motivated candidate.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for 10 hours a day.
• High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Mazak mills or lathes.
• Knowledge of G-code programming, CMM, and inspection equipment.
• Trade school education or at least 3 years of machining experience.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings and CNC programs.
• Set up Mazak CNC machines and tooling accurately and efficiently.
• Make necessary tool-offset and work-offset adjustments.
• Inspect, deburr, clean, and skid parts while the machine is cycling to maximize efficiency.
• Inspect machined parts to ensure they meet appropriate requirements.
• Communicate relevant quantity and quality issues to management.
• Assist with other Machine Shop projects as needed.
