About The Position

Firefly Aerospace is hiring a CNC Machinist for its manufacturing site in Briggs, Texas, about 25 minutes north of Cedar Park. The role joins a team of machinists who provide mentoring and cross-training on the company’s machinery and processes. The machinist will manufacture complex-geometry rocket engine components made from high-temperature alloys using sophisticated processes and equipment. First- and second-shift openings are available.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a CNC Machinist.
• Passion for building spacecraft and rocket components.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, bending, and regularly lifting 25 pounds.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good math skills.
• Solid computer skills.
• Must meet applicable U.S. Government space technology export authorization requirements: be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Responsibilities

• Machine high-quality parts.
• Read and follow technical drawings and diagrammed instructions.
• Inspect and document personally manufactured parts.
• Set up machines for part manufacturing.
• Make edits as needed.
• Follow all safety standards.
• Immediately report safety or maintenance concerns to management.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Maintain a high standard of quality and take pride in work.
• Be available to work first or second shift and overtime as needed.
