About The Position

Phillips Manufacturing is a well-established, Omaha-based manufacturer with over 70 years of providing quality products. We are a one-stop shop for drywall finishing accessories, lath, stucco accessories, metal channels, interior framing, and fire-rated assemblies with facilities around the country. The CNC Machinist / Tool and Die Tech is responsible for planning and laying out work, setting up and operating machine tools, and manufacturing components and assemblies to specified tolerances. This role also involves making necessary mechanical repairs on plant equipment. We pride ourselves on a clean, safe work environment and a great company culture, with an air-conditioned shop equipped with Haas machining centers, Haas lathes, Bridgeport EZtracks, Okamoto surface grinders, a Cincinnati cylindrical grinder, Mitsubishi EDM, and other standard shop equipment. We utilize MasterCAM, Inventor, and AutoCAD software daily.

Requirements

High School diploma, technical certificate, or equivalent coursework or training in a directly related area.
3+ years of experience in an industrial setting directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Successful candidates must pass pre-employment drug testing, background, and physical capacity screenings.

Nice To Haves

Associates of Applied Science in Precision Machining or Machine Tool Technology strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs precision machine work to create, assemble, disassemble, modify, or repair machines, apparatus, mechanical devices, and sub-assemblies.
Makes, fits, and installs parts.
Reads and interprets drawings, sketches, and diagrams.
Sets up, adjusts, or operates basic or specialized machine tools for precision machining.
Uses precision measurement and layout tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, rulers, square, compass) and applies shop mathematics and formulas.
Operates all manual machine shop tools including lathes, milling machines, drill press, saws, grinders, and hones.
Programs and operates CNC lathes, mills, MasterCAM, and AutoCAD.
Operates and programs numerically controlled machines (lathes, mills, wire EDM) to fabricate parts.
Builds and/or modifies equipment according to established specifications.
Repairs and/or modifies existing and new products according to established specifications and procedures.
