This position is responsible for setting up and operating automated machines to fabricate parts, applying knowledge of shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, maintainability materials, and layout techniques. The role involves downloading program files to set up machines for cutting/milling according to blueprints and engineering documents, testing programs, and ensuring proper machine setup. Responsibilities include removing and replacing cutting tools, inspecting tool condition, manipulating programs to fit inserts, and inspecting cut material/parts for conformity. The technician will also edge-fill, seal, and sand panels, identify materials and appropriate cutting tools, set up material, and inspect for serviceability. Additionally, the role requires writing and/or editing CNC programs based on blueprint specifications and using precision measuring equipment.
