About The Position

Morris Group, Inc. is seeking a CNC Machinist/Programmer to join their team. As a third-generation, family-owned business and one of North America's largest machine tool distributors, Morris Group aims to help manufacturers maintain a competitive edge. The ideal candidate will bring industry experience to offer cutting-edge ideas, the latest products, and efficiency-generating solutions to customers. This role involves developing strong customer relationships, acting as a knowledge base for machine accessories, workholding, and tooling, and analyzing customer equipment to recommend improvements. The position partners with capital equipment sales, cultivates a sales territory, and delivers product demonstrations. The role also requires managing projects collaboratively with internal teams and maintaining a high degree of integrity and professionalism.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of machining experience
Internally driven with a deep-seated desire to win in a competitive marketplace
Candidate must bring a strategic approach to all work and creativity for solving challenges
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Ability to excel in a team environment as well as when working independently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to effectively present products and solutions to customers in one on one and group settings across multiple levels from shop floor to senior management
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and other related business programs
Position requires access to reliable transportation, a valid U.S. driver’s license, and a clean driving record
Daily travel throughout the assigned territory with occasional long distance or overnight travel required

Preference for candidates with experience reviewing and processing part prints, fixturing strategies, and tooling selection
Preference for candidates with lean manufacturing training
Preference for candidates with public speaking or product presentation experience
Preference for candidates with project management experience
A current U.S. passport is a plus

Responsibilities

Develop strong customer relationships across multiple levels within their organizations: shop floor, programming, engineering, purchasing, and senior management.
Act as a central knowledge base for machine accessories, workholding, and tooling products to recommend solutions direct to customers and for machine sales planning.
Analyze customer equipment and processes to recommend products and ideas for improvement to maximize customer efficiency and profitability.
Partner with capital equipment sales in assigned territory to ensure all customer needs are met from pre-sales to project completion.
Cultivating a sales territory to generate revenue when not supporting capital machine projects.
Develop and deliver outstanding customer product demonstrations.
Attend industry events and supplier training seminars to stay current with new products, processes, and technologies.
Manage projects collaborating with Morris’ engineering, capital equipment sales, contracts, service, and management teams.
Possess an in-depth knowledge of the machine tool industry and product lines represented by the company.
Maintain a high degree of integrity and professionalism that safeguards the trust and confidence of customers and colleagues.
