About The Position
Sets up and operates CNC Lathe machines to produce parts for pneumatic cylinders and manifolds. This role involves cutting and machining rods and barrels for pneumatic cylinder assembly, and operating various specialty machinery such as tube cutters, deburrers, polishers, rod saws, flat presses, and roller burnishing machines.
Requirements
- Experience in manufacturing/warehouse/machine shop environment or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of hand tools and the Metric system.
- Knowledge of basic machine practices and safety standards.
- Knowledge of measuring equipment and machine tools.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with SAP or similar system is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Performs complex CNC machine setups.
- Reads, writes, and modifies programs for CNC Lathe machines.
- Machines production components to critical blueprint tolerances.
- Machines piston rods on CNC Lathe and various parts on CNC milling machine.
- Machines production parts on manual lathe and milling machines as required.
- Sets up CNC machines to produce production parts to drawing specifications.
- Performs first piece inspection to drawing specifications.
- Changes tool offsets to maintain dimensions per production drawings.
- Reads inspection equipment in both inch and metric increments (caliper, micrometer, depth gage, Last word indicator, pitch micrometer etc.).
- Verifies conformance of all components to specifications.
- Uses various types of roller burnishing machines to finish piston rods.
- Washes rods in cleaning solution to prepare for assembly.
