About The Position

To set up and operate an individual CNC machine tool or several machine tools organized in a work group or cell. This role involves working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals and requires adherence to standard work instructions and machine requirements. The position may involve operating multiple machines simultaneously and performing associated tasks such as deburring and tool presetting.

Requirements

  • Ability to set up machines using necessary tools and equipment according to standard work instructions and machine requirements.
  • Proficiency in establishing reference points and setting offsets.
  • Skill in making trial runs and proving out tapes.
  • Ability to perform work to specified tolerances.
  • Capability to operate two machines simultaneously (may be required).
  • Experience with deburring, checking work, and presetting tools.
  • Knowledge of maintaining standard work files, program files, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Ability to keep machines clean and perform daily routine maintenance checks.
  • Physical ability to handle medium weight materials by hand and heavier materials by hoist or crane.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machine tools (mills, lathes, machining centers, grinders).
  • Establish reference points and set offsets.
  • Preset tools as required.
  • Make trial runs and prove out tapes.
  • Perform work to specified tolerances.
  • Operate two machines simultaneously (may be required).
  • Perform miscellaneous duties such as deburring and checking work.
  • Maintain standard work files, program files, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Keep machine clean and perform daily routine maintenance checks.
  • Handle medium weight materials by hand and heavier materials by hoist or crane.
