About The Position

Department 129 has an opening for a CNC Machining Operator. This job will consist of setting up and running various types of fan hubs, bearing housings, etc. Candidates must demonstrate during the trial period, the ability to perform the above listed responsibilities while producing quality parts, to print, at the routed rate and in a safe manner while maintaining accuracy of counts, and part numbers. The progress of any candidates selected for this posting shall be evaluated during the trial period to assure that the job requirements are being met.

Requirements

• Prior CNC machining experience and knowledge
• Experience with CNC machining centers
• Understanding and ability to use machining part prints
• Mechanical background
• Demonstrated use of all types of gages (stick mics, Vernier calipers, depth mics, dial bore, etc.)
• Ability to use hand tools and grinders for deburring parts
• Math skills for decimals and fractions
• Ability to line up parts using dial indicators, chucks and/or fixtures

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of when and how to change inserts
• Ability to read set up sheets and demonstrate the ability to perform setups
• Ability to lift and load into machines up to 40lb castings
• Ability to use overhead power cranes
• Ability to make offset adjustments to compensate for tool wear

Responsibilities

• Setting up and running various types of fan hubs, bearing housings, etc.
• Using machining part prints
• Demonstrating the use of all types of gages (stick mics, Vernier calipers, depth mics, dial bore, etc.)
• Using hand tools and grinders for deburring parts
• Line up parts using dial indicators, chucks and/or fixtures
• Changing inserts
• Reading set up sheets and performing setups
• Lifting and loading up to 40lb castings into machines
• Using overhead power cranes
• Making offset adjustments to compensate for tool wear
