About The Position

This role involves setting up and operating various CNC machines including VMC’s, HMC’s, TMC’s, Co2 Lasers, Fiber Laser, Break Press and/or Robotic Welders. The operator will be responsible for producing machined parts by setting up and operating CNC machines, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies. The position requires the ability to perform light program edits, maintain specifications by observing operations and taking measurements, and perform daily preventive maintenance on equipment. The role also involves planning machining by studying work orders and blueprints, verifying settings, and maintaining safe operations and continuity between shifts. The operator will also be responsible for updating job knowledge, accomplishing organizational goals, and ensuring a safe working environment with good housekeeping and 5S practices.

Requirements

Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic understand of blueprint reading.
Leadership capability.
Ability to solve problems.
Ability to read micrometers and calipers.

Responsibilities

Set-up and operate Two different types of machines VMC’s, HMC’s, TMC’s, Co2 Lasers, Fiber Laser, Break Press and /or Robotic Welders.
Perform light program edit on Mills, Lathes, Lasers and /or Robotic Welders by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and simple trigonometry; proving part programs.
Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintain equipment by completing the daily preventive maintenance requirements.
Set-up machines by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, indicating vice or work piece, bar feeders, cutting conditions.
Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces, adhering to international standards.
Read micrometers and calipers.
Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Follow instructions, and management directive.
