About The Position

The CNC Machine Operator will be responsible for loading parts, operating controls, machining parts, inspecting parts, following all established processes for conformance to requirements, and deburring parts if required. This role involves checking and monitoring parts being run, following sequences of operations and set-up requirements under supervision, and reading basic dimensions and tolerances of a blueprint. The operator will also be responsible for achieving Earned Standard Hours Goals and Objectives, ensuring proper documentation completion (including PCDs, clocking in/out of jobs, daily operator checklists in Paper or Syteline), and diligently following Orizon’s process and procedures for nonconformance parts. Participation in and sustaining Ultra C-Lean objectives is also a key responsibility. The role includes maintaining proper inventory of hand tools and inspection equipment, detecting equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and reporting them to supervision, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment in compliance with policies. Setting up machines and tool offsets is required, but must be confirmed by Team Lead or Machinist prior to running. The operator will fill out the Tie-In-Book with detailed notes on completed work, problems encountered, and machine alerts, and mark each unloaded part with employee number and operation. Other duties as assigned by supervision may be required.

Requirements

High School Diploma, GED, or able to demonstrate basic written, reading, verbal, and math skills.
Basic computer skills (e.g., loading programs, clocking in and out, Factory Trak, accessing dispatch list).
Basic blueprint reading – dimensioning and tolerancing.
Accurately complete required paperwork (e.g., Work Orders, Tie In Books).
Select the correct tool and media to blend / edge break a machined part.
Finish machined parts to meet BAC5300.
In-process inspection.
Identifying and controlling nonconforming product.
Fixture and part loading in CNC machines.
Cutting tool setup and insert rotation/replacement.
CNC Milling Machine operation.
Perform autonomous preventive maintenance on equipment.

Nice To Haves

Understanding in blueprint reading and GD&T preferred.
Able to read G Code preferred.
Basic knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines preferred.
One-year Milling Machine experience strongly preferred.
Experience using measurement tools (e.g., caliper, micrometer, height gage, etc.) strongly preferred.
Good mechanical aptitude strongly preferred.
Basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Forklift certification.
Knowledge in use of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not limited to refractometer, calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales.
Crane/hoist certification.
Ultra C-Lean.

Responsibilities

Setting up Machines and Tool offsets (must be confirmed by Team Lead or Machinist prior to running).
Filling out Tie-In-Book with good, detailed notes to communicate completed work, and noting any problems like broken tools or machine alerts.
Marking each part that is unloaded with employee number and associated operation.
Performing other duties as assigned by supervision.
