About The Position

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient running of CNC machines and for performing parts inspection to produce high quality automotive parts. This position involves a Monday to Friday, 8-hour weekly rotating shift schedule.

Requirements

  • Completed Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong hand/ eye coordination.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a visual walk around inspection at the beginning of each shift to ensure the machine is safe.
  • Load castings onto fixtures ensuring proper orientation and location; ensure machine properly clamps the parts in place and activates the machine cycle.
  • Monitor automatic operation to detect issues and remove chip accumulations from fixtures and parts.
  • Verify dimensions of machined parts using multiple gauges.
  • Immediately notify the quality department or supervisor if any quality checks are not met.
