This role involves operating CNC lathes and machining centers, performing procedures such as boring, milling, and turning. The operator will inspect for quality using a coordinate measuring machine, apply problem-solving skills, and perform tool offsets using computerized equipment. Work will be based on blueprints and machine programming language. Secondary operations include drilling, tapping, reaming, broaching, vibrating, tumbling, degreasing, sanding, polishing, wire brushing, or other secondary operations. The operator will visually check castings during machine operation, maintain a constant flow of castings, and may take measurements to ensure conformance to specifications. They will operate a trim press for removing die casting gates and runners, visually inspect castings, and may hand grind, file, or buff die castings. Some assembly operations may also be required.
