About The Position

Responsible for operating and maintaining computer numerically controlled (CNC) routers to cut and shape various materials into specified forms, shapes, and sizes. The operator ensures products meet customer specifications and the highest quality standards. The employee may also perform other duties as assigned and must follow safety guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic understanding of wood species.
• Excellent attention to detail and a results-driven approach.
• Ability to use a tape measure and calipers.
• Ability to perform to production standards and identify common material quality defects.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift heavy objects in excess of 30 pounds.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Ability to follow direction and instruction and be coachable.
• Ability to work well with other employees.
• Ability to remain stationary for extended periods, move around the factory floor, transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions while operating machinery and hand tools.
• Ability to inspect parts at close vision (less than 20 inches) and assess safety hazards from a distance (20 feet or more).
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with loud noise, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and temperature fluctuations; appropriate PPE is required.

Responsibilities

• Follow setup, shutdown, and operation instructions.
• Perform changeovers and replace tooling as required.
• Read and interpret drawings and shop routings.
• Complete work according to the work order.
• Meet quality standards; inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to verify the process was completed properly.
• Perform design maintenance tasks and maintain a clean work area.
• Follow safety guidelines and instructions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
