About The Position

STS Aerospace is hiring a CNC Machine Operator to fabricate parts using CNC lathes and milling machines, as well as conventional machines. The operator follows blueprints, job plans, and operating instructions to manufacture parts to specifications; handles parts carefully; and performs loading, unloading, in-process inspection, measurement, and finished-part verification. The role includes operating one or more machines, performing deburring, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and operating equipment safely. Operators are expected to report part, setup, or machine issues promptly to the Set-up person or Programmer and take a proactive approach to improving productivity, quality, and safety. Personal basic tools are a plus.

Requirements

At least 1 year of CNC operating experience.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

Operate CNC lathes and milling machines, along with conventional machines, to fabricate parts.
Follow blueprints, job plans, and operating instructions to manufacture parts to specifications.
Handle parts carefully to avoid damage and follow loading and unloading instructions.
Perform in-process inspections and measure workpieces using micrometers, verniers, or other instruments or gauges.
Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or machining outside tolerances.
Verify that finished workpieces conform to specifications and follow the principle that everyone is an inspector.
Keep work areas and machines clean and organized.
Operate equipment safely to protect oneself and fellow employees.
Immediately report issues with parts, setups, or machines to the Set-up person or Programmer.
Operate one or more machines at a time and perform deburring.
Proactively contribute to continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and safety.
