About The Position

Hypertherm Associates is seeking motivated individuals for our CNC Fundamentals Course to become CNC Machine Operators. This US Department of Labor approved Apprenticeship Program will teach you the valuable trade of CNC Machine Operation. The CNC Fundamentals course is approximately 4 weeks long and takes place on 1st shift (7am to 3:30pm). Additional training may occur on 1st shift prior to the start of the class. As a CNC Machine Operator, you will work with your team to produce machined parts for our plasma cutting systems through machining, assembly, and packaging tasks in an assigned manufacturing area, using standard work instructions. This role offers career progression with 5 levels of Machine Operator across Technical and Mastery tracks, with opportunities for further technical training and skill mastery. The course is also eligible for up to 40 credits towards an Associate's Degree through a partnership with the University of Phoenix.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
18 years of age or older
Comfortable working with current technology, including experience and familiarity using MS Office (Outlook/Excel) and Windows Operating Systems
A positive attitude
Ability and willingness to learn technical material in a school-like setting
Excitement about working with a team and within our collaborative ownership culture
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to follow and process instructions
Basic math understanding
Good written and verbal communication skills
Successful completion of a technical assessment

Responsibilities
