About The Position

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for machining products to specifications, including using 5-axis machines, and machining parts according to load card specifications and work instructions. The role includes setting up parts, verifying setup accuracy, inspecting materials and finished parts for quality and workmanship, documenting required information, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and performing preventive maintenance. The operator follows safety procedures, supports quality systems and company policies, identifies nonconformities, contributes to process improvements, and performs job rotation as directed.

Requirements

• Ability to comprehend and follow job safety guidelines.
• Ability to comprehend and follow directions on a load card, SOR (if applicable), or OMS.
• Ability to lift parts from floor to operation level frequently.
• Skill in using air-driven hand tools.
• Ability to set up forms and fixtures to specifications.
• Understanding of proper lockout procedures.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Ability to maintain forms as appropriate.
• Ability to comprehend and perform proper gluing processes.
• Ability to use required gauges and measuring devices.
• Ability to use load-moving devices.
• Ability to identify nonconformities.

Responsibilities

• Set up parts to be run and verify setup accuracy.
• Inspect materials for obvious damage, color consistency, alignment, and other material specifications; inspect parts for applicable quality and workmanship standards.
• Document necessary information.
• Keep the workspace and equipment clean and well organized.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and tools as required.
• Follow safety guidelines, use required personal protective equipment, and follow proper lockout procedures.
• Identify nonconformities, follow nonconforming product procedures, and understand disposition authority.
• Implement process improvements.
• Support the Vision and Guiding Principles and other policies of Kimball International and National Office Furniture.
• Follow and support the quality system.
• Perform job rotation as directed.
• Machine parts according to load card specifications and work instructions.
