About The Position

SIG SAUER, Inc. is hiring immediately for CNC Machine Operators to run a variety of CNC equipment in their production shops in New Hampshire. The role involves independently loading parts and operating CNC equipment, completing operational processes, and identifying/assembling cutting tools. Operators will learn about tool wear, program start lines, and basic M codes. A key responsibility is inspecting machined parts for proper finish, features, and identifying any issues. The role also includes basic troubleshooting of machine errors and escalating issues when necessary. Operators will perform required inspection measurements using various hand tools and measurement devices, and learn to read reports from measurement tools to adjust parts.

Requirements

  • MUST HAVE CNC EXPERIENCE.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to set the tool to the correct tool height with assistance from others.
  • Typically requires 90 days as a CNC Trainee and or one (1) year of demonstrated CNC Machine Operator experience.
  • Basic computer and math skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Independently load parts and operate a minimum of one type of CNC equipment.
  • Complete all operational processes, checklists, control plans and procedures as required.
  • Correctly identify and assemble cutting tools and tool holder assemblies based on existing process documentation.
  • Learn and understand the difference between types of tool wear.
  • Identify the correct start line in the program.
  • Gain basic working/functional knowledge of M codes.
  • Look at parts to ensure they were machined properly, including surface finish conditions and missing features.
  • Basic troubleshooting of the machine (with assistance) if there is an error code and escalate issues to the Lead or Supervisor.
  • Complete all required inspection measurements as defined on quality control plans using hand tools, gage pins, caliper, micrometer, and Micro-Hite measurement tools.
  • Properly load and run equator.
  • Learn to read CMM reports and reports from the equator and adjust parts.
