About The Position

The CNC Machine Operator II is a mid-level position that draws on prior machining experience and technical problem-solving skills to operate at least two types of CNC equipment. The operator works on medium- to highly complex components using automated and manual equipment and processes to meet customer needs. The role involves working independently and with internal team members, leads, supervisors, and quality personnel, and training others as required.

This is a non-exempt position. The operator performs Level I duties at an intermediate level without assistance and may work in other functional areas or facilities depending on business needs. Overtime or alternate shifts may be required based on business needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Typically, at least 3 years of demonstrated CNC experience.
• Solid computer and math skills.
• Ability to perform secondary operations.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions in English.
• Basic experience reading blueprints.
• Ability to identify additional tasks with little supervision.

Nice To Haves

• Some experience with GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties associated with CNC Machine Operator I at an intermediate level without assistance.
• Operate at least two types of CNC equipment on medium- to highly complex components.
• Change and replace broken tools independently.
• Identify issues with fixtures.
• Develop the ability to interpret drawings as they relate to GD&T.
• Read CMM and/or Equator reports and adjust parts.
• Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Participate in 5S workplace organization activities and maintain the work area through sustainment activities.
• Train others as required.
• Maintain regular on-site attendance and punctuality.
• Work in other functional areas or facilities and work overtime or alternate shifts when business needs require.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
