About The Position

This role involves operating CNC equipment to perform various machining operations such as drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, spot facing, and countersinking on single or multiple spindle machines. The operator will work with close tolerances and fine finishes, perform tool offsets, load parts, and interpret blueprints and process sheets. The position requires adherence to internal process specifications and third-party requirements, utilization of proper PPE and safety procedures, and proactive contribution to efficiency and quality improvements. The role also involves receiving guidance from experienced employees and abiding by GE behaviors. This position is for individuals at least 18 years of age due to potential hazardous operations, chemicals, or shifts beyond a standard workweek.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
  • 1 year of machine shop operations experience.
  • Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation.
  • Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools (crimpers, soldering iron, wire strippers, brazing equipment, etc.), as well as measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, rulers, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of mathematical principles (conversions to decimal system, geometry, basic math, etc.).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years’ machine shop experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC equipment.
  • Operate any time and size of single spindle or multiple spindles on a variety of operations (drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, spot facing, countersinking, etc.).
  • Use all tools, jigs, figures, and gauges necessary to perform operations.
  • Work with close tolerances and fine finishes.
  • Perform tool offset and load parts.
  • Perform job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and third-party requirements.
  • Participate in, and support, team initiatives.
  • Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures.
  • Report problems to appropriate resources and/or Coach.
  • Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products.
  • Receive guidance from experienced employees.
  • Understand and abide by the GE behaviors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
