About The Position

This position performs CNC machine setup and operation, as well as programming, to meet B&B Manufacturing Inc.'s requirements for accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness in part production. The role involves operating multiple machines, performing measurement validation, ensuring overall equipment operation and maintaining a clean work area. The CNC Lathe Programmer will assist in meeting or exceeding daily customer production requirements and serve as the primary source for CNC machine operation and processing, adhering to all departmental and B&B procedures. This role requires reading machining instructions and interpreting blueprints to ensure efficient component running according to engineered drawing requirements. The programmer will identify, obtain, or recommend tools and fixtures needed to meet current specification dimensioning and tolerancing, clamp workpieces securely, position and secure gaging for validation, and make minor adjustments. They will maintain set feed rates and rotation speeds, verify part conformance using measurement devices, identify flaws, and stop production if issues cannot be resolved. The position also involves computing necessary dimensions using shop mathematics for consistent accuracy and machining plastic or other nonmetallic materials to meet customer expectations. Experience with custom or production work, various materials, and machines like the Mazak Lathe is expected. The individual must understand and practice the B&B Quality Policy.

Requirements

  • Read, write, and comprehend English language.
  • Proficient in general CNC operations.
  • Proficient with FANUC controls to program machine in G and M codes.
  • Expeditious setup of machines to run parts at high production speeds.
  • Knowledgeable in current indexable tooling technology.
  • Reading and understanding blueprints and machine operation.
  • Ability to operate multiple CNC machines.
  • Measure and record all required data and dimensions.
