Programs computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipment. Equipment may include but is not limited to CNC Machining Centers & CNC Lathes. Develops, writes, and edits programs for product completion, both at the machine and off-line. Uses CAD/CAM software to develop, write, and improve machining processes as well as improve part quality. Ability to interpret and manipulate drawings & part models as well as interpret part manuals and part specifications to determine set-up requirements such as fixturing components or tooling. Calculates and sets controls to produce quality parts in the most efficient manner. Creates setup sheet to clearly convey tooling, process, and set-up requirements to the machine operator. Reviews set-up sheets for accuracy and competency. Confers with engineers, production personnel or others to resolve machining problems. Works in a safe manner at all times, following all safety guidelines.
