CNC Laser Operator/Fabrication Technician (Aerospace Precision)
About The Position
Joined Alloys, a division of Leading Edge Manufacturing (LEM), is seeking an experienced and motivated CNC Laser Operator / Fabrication Technician to join their team. This role involves setting up and operating a Mazak CNC CO₂ Laser, along with supporting a variety of precision fabrication processes. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, an engineering mindset, and a desire to expand their skills in areas such as CNC tube forming. The company is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, and has been a trusted name in the aerospace, precision machining, and defense industries since 1959. They specialize in complex manufacturing processes and hold AS9100D, ISO9001, and NADCAP certifications.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in precision fabrication or manufacturing (aerospace experience preferred).
- Proficiency with Mazak CNC laser systems or similar CO₂ laser cutting equipment.
- Experience operating AMADA press brakes or equivalent forming machinery.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies, including CNC tube forming.
- Detail-oriented, quality-focused, and safety-conscious.
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
Nice To Haves
- Aerospace experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain Mazak CNC CO₂ Laser equipment for precision cutting operations.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency.
- Operate and set up AMADA press brakes for precision forming.
- Learn and assist with CNC tube forming and other advanced fabrication technologies.
- Read and interpret blueprints, aerospace drawings, and technical specifications.
- Perform quality inspections using standard measurement tools and maintain accurate process documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, workflow efficiency, and preventive maintenance efforts.
