About The Position

Magellan Aerospace, Haverhill is a world-class manufacturer of precision machined aerospace components. We have an exciting opportunity for a 2nd Shift CNC Grinder. The primary responsibility of a 2nd Shift CNC Grinder is to Set-up and operate CNC grinding equipment in a skillful and efficient manner.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Vocational School with hands on training at school or in a machine shop.
• At least 5 years of machining experience
• Ability to perform within tight tolerances and work within already established parameters.
• Experience with tolerances of +/- .00015 & knowledge of surface finish and methods of inspecting them.
• Proficient in indicating.
• Team Player and good attitude

Nice To Haves

• Some training in the use and understanding of metric to imperial inch conversion

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate CNC grinding equipment in a skillful and efficient manner.
• Read prints and interpret engineering instructions required to produce parts consistently to close tolerances.
• Analyze and debug new methods.
• Perform calculations and use inspection equipment to verify that all quality requirements are met.
• Understand and follow the safety rules including keeping a neat and clean work area.
• Diligently perform all duties in a highly productive manner.
• Check and maintain oil and coolant levels on a daily basis.
