About The Position

The CNC Grind Operator – (ANCA Grinder) is responsible for the setup, operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance of ANCA CNC grinding machines used in the production of precision cutting tools and components. This role ensures parts are produced safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards, work instructions, and inspection requirements.

Requirements

  • High school minimum (college, technical, or trade preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of safety and hazardous material regulations.
  • Knowledge retention of FDA Quality System requirements ("Good Manufacturing Practices") and ISO 13485 requirements after training.
  • Basic CNC programming knowledge, enough to upload/download programs to machines.
  • Problem solving – Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Must be able to develop solutions quickly and effectively.
  • Oral communication – Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and get clarification.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Anca CNC grinding machines to manufacture precision tools according to job travelers, product drawings, and specifications.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Work (SW) to produce a unique and patent protected dental drill while maintaining machines at maximum production levels and adhering to safety standards.
  • Perform machine setups, basic offsets, wheel pack changes, and steady rest adjustments as required per SOP.
  • Monitor grinding processes and make minor adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
  • Troubleshoot basic straightforward issues.
  • Conduct First Article, in‑process, and final inspections using inspection systems, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring equipment as needed.
  • Document inspection results and production activity in company defined manufacturing systems.
  • Troubleshoot basic machine or process issues and escalate complex issues to supervisors and/or maintenance as needed.
  • Ability to operate and monitor multiple machines during the designated shift.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and training efforts.
  • Must be able to temporarily live in Jackson, Michigan during training period.
