About The Position

Morris Group, Inc., a third-generation, family-owned business and one of North America's largest machine tool distributors, is seeking a CNC Field Service Technician for its Morris South division. This role is crucial for supporting manufacturers of precision machined parts in the southeastern U.S. (Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia). The company's mission is to enhance manufacturers' competitive advantage through improved productivity, helping them produce better parts more affordably. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of machine tool equipment, controls (such as Fanuc and Siemens), and other components, working independently to ensure high-quality customer service.

Requirements

  • Five years’ experience with CNC machine repair.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other business programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent technical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job, including flexible hours and frequent travel and driving throughout a regional territory.

Responsibilities

  • Traveling to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all machine tool equipment and controls.
  • Utilizing machine tool manuals, technical documents, and internal/vendor resources to research machine issues.
  • Ensuring proper documentation is completed and submitted regarding the status of machine issues, repairs, and installations.
  • Promoting and performing preventative maintenance on customer machine tool equipment.
  • Conducting after-sales technical support and training.
  • Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of machine tool industry and product lines represented by the company.
  • Performing related duties as required.
