About The Position
Elk Valley, part of LHC Group and the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a CNA to provide in-home support, personal hygiene assistance, and household help so clients can remain in their own homes. The role involves personalized care and support for clients at different stages of their health journey. The position requires providing personal care and help with daily living activities, supporting household tasks, monitoring and documenting client conditions, and maintaining a safe environment. The aide must be able to work in any home situation regardless of a client's age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition. The role is described as per diem. Candidates must have a current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or access to public transit. Tennessee-specific training requirements apply where relevant. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Requirements
- Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or access to public transit.
- For Tennessee: 75 hours of training, including 16 clinical hours within the first 3 months; qualified for basic services.
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Nice To Haves
- Current CPR certification or ability to complete it within 90 days of hire.
- At least 6 months of home care experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours and independently.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assist with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, ambulation, and medication reminders.
- Support household tasks and meal preparation.
- Accompany clients to appointments or errands as needed.
- Monitor and document client condition, vital signs, and incidents.
- Maintain client confidentiality and use the EVV system.
- Ensure a safe environment, operate medical equipment properly, and respond promptly to client needs.
- Function in any home situation regardless of the client's age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
