About The Position

Griswold Home Care in Ocala & The Villages is hiring a PRN CNA to provide companionship and non-medical caregiving to seniors and other people who need care in the Inverness and Dunnellon areas. Shift lengths vary based on client needs and may range from 4 to 12 hours; clients may need as little as 4 hours of care or as much as 24-hour care. The position offers flexible hours and opportunities to gain experience assisting seniors.

Requirements

• Reliable transportation to work in the Inverness and Dunnellon areas.
• Current Florida CNA license or proof of at least 75 hours of Home Health Aide training from an FDOE-approved school or program.
• Current, unexpired BLS or CPR certification.
• Statement of freedom from communicable disease dated within the past 6 months.
• Overview of HIV/AIDS.
• Alzheimer’s and Dementia Training (2 hours) completed within the past 7 months.
• Self-Administration of Medications Training (2 hours).
• Department of Elder Affairs Alzheimer’s One-Hour Training Video dated within the past 30 days.
• Pass a Level 2 background check required by AHCA.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two or more years of home care experience; caring for a loved one counts.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical care and companionship in clients’ homes.
• Assist clients with laundry, grocery shopping, and meal preparation.
• Support clients with personal hygiene and daily tasks such as bathing and feeding while respecting their dignity.
• Provide companionship to clients with dementia or cognitive impairments.
• Complete shift documentation and submit timely updates.
• Communicate routinely with the office about clients’ condition and needs.
