About The Position
Sanford Health is seeking a compassionate, self-motivated, and independent Nursing Assistant to provide patient care in a fast-paced walk-in clinic. The role is suitable for candidates at any experience level. The Nursing Assistant assists nursing personnel with patient care activities and services that support patients’ personal needs and comfort, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The position has varying shifts and 32 scheduled hours per week.
Requirements
- Good human relations and communication skills.
- Ability to follow procedures and instructions given by a licensed nurse.
- Ability to acquire basic knowledge of patient care principles, medical terminology, and equipment within the assigned service area.
Nice To Haves
- Certification and registration with the Minnesota Board of Nursing Assistant Registry is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care in a walk-in clinic.
- Assist patients with routine care, including physical exams and checkups.
- Perform clinical duties as delegated, consistent with role responsibilities, training, competency, and the needs of the ambulatory setting.
- Take patients’ vital signs and record vital statistics and other basic health information.
- Maintain stocks of medical supplies needed by registered nurses or physicians.
- Complete assigned patient care duties and delegated tasks and treatments.
- Assist with rooming patients and basic health care needs, including daily living activities and emotional and spiritual needs.
- Collect non-invasive biological specimens as needed.
- Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient health care.
- Prepare patient treatment areas and medical equipment for use, clean equipment and patient areas or treatment rooms, and dispose of biomedical waste according to standards and policy.
- Adapt to a dynamic work environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Collaborate with health care professionals to support patient outcomes.
