About The Position
The CNA assists licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living for residents at South Port Square, a senior living community in Port Charlotte, Florida. The role includes supporting residents’ personal care, carrying out assigned treatments and procedures, documenting observations and care, and helping maintain a clean and orderly living environment. The posting lists full-time weekend hours of 7:00 a.m.–11:30 p.m., full-time hours of 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., and part-time hours of 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. or 11:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m. Compensation is $17.50 per hour, with shift differentials of $2 per hour for weekday evenings and nights and $3.50 per hour for weekend shifts. This position requires background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
Requirements
- Successful completion of a state-approved geriatric nursing assistant training program.
- Registration with the state registry is required.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and document care given.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse is required.
Nice To Haves
- Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting, and exercising.
- Give treatments, perform tests, carry out procedures, and collect specimens as instructed.
- Report and record observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures, and specimens when indicated.
- Transfer, transport, and escort residents as needed.
- Answer signal lights promptly.
- Change bed linens, make beds, and keep rooms clean and orderly.
