About The Position
As a Per Diem Aide with Elk Valley, part of LHC Group and the Optum family of businesses, you will support an individual in remaining in their own home by assisting with personal hygiene and household functions. The role involves personalized in-home care, supporting clients through their health journey, and building trusted relationships. The position requires providing care regardless of a client’s age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
Requirements
- Current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or access to public transit.
- Tennessee-specific: complete 75 hours of training, including 16 clinical hours, within the first three months; qualified for basic services.
Nice To Haves
- Current CPR certification or ability to complete it within 90 days of hire.
- Six or more months of home care experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours and independently.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assist with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, ambulation, and medication reminders.
- Support household tasks and meal preparation, and accompany clients to appointments or errands as needed.
- Monitor and document client condition, vital signs, and incidents; maintain confidentiality and use the EVV system.
- Ensure a safe environment, operate medical equipment properly, and respond promptly to client needs.
- Provide services in home situations regardless of the client’s age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
