About The Position

KARE uses an app to connect caregivers with senior living communities that need support. CNAs can use the app to find shifts, control their schedules, earn extra income, and explore potential permanent employment with client communities. The role involves providing residents with care and support according to care-provider orders and community guidelines, while maintaining resident records and a safe, professional environment. Workers complete an interview and verification process before beginning work.

Requirements

• Requires a CNA license.
• Ability to lift at least 51 lbs on a regular basis and help residents who require physical assistance.
• Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.

Nice To Haves

• Experience caring for residents with memory impairment may be required when assigned to a community’s memory care areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide residents with medication administration and treatment assistance and services according to health care provider orders.
• Supervise residents who self-administer medication, following community and regulatory guidelines.
• Report changes in residents’ physical condition or behavior.
• Maintain resident records regarding medication distribution, leisure activities, incidents, and observations.
• Assist residents as needed with medication reminders, bathing, grooming, dressing, escort service, and other activities of daily living.
• Follow the schedule of resident needs set out by a supervisor.
• Provide emotional and social support to residents.
• Inform a supervisor of resident issues or concerns.
• Help maintain a safe working environment by preventing accidents, preserving equipment, and following safe working practices.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and coworkers.
