About The Position

KARE connects caregivers with senior living communities that need support. CNAs use the KARE app to find shifts and control their schedules, with no contracts or long-term commitments. Heroes can work in any state where they are licensed and may use the app to find permanent employment with client communities. The role involves supporting residents with medication administration and treatments, activities of daily living, emotional and social needs, and maintaining resident records and a safe, professional environment.

Requirements

• CNA license required.
• Ability to lift at least 51 lbs on a regular basis and help residents who require physical assistance.
• Fluent ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Nice To Haves

• Experience caring for residents with memory impairment may be required if assigned to a community’s memory care areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide residents with medication administration and treatment assistance and services according to health care provider orders.
• Supervise residents who self-administer medication in accordance with community and regulatory guidelines.
• Report changes in residents’ physical condition or behavior.
• Maintain resident records regarding medication distribution, leisure activities, incidents, and observations.
• Assist residents as needed with medication reminders, bathing, grooming, dressing, escort service, and other activities of daily living.
• Follow the schedule of residents’ needs set out by a supervisor.
• Provide emotional and social support to residents.
• Inform a supervisor of resident issues or concerns.
• Help maintain a safe working environment by preventing accidents, preserving equipment, and following safe working practices.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and coworkers.
