About The Position

Fishkill Center for Rehabilitation Nursing, a 160-bed skilled nursing facility in Beacon, New York, has immediate openings for enthusiastic and energetic Certified Nursing Assistants for all shifts. CNAs provide direct nursing care to assigned residents under the supervision and guidance of skilled professionals, and perform services to support residents’ personal care and comfort. The facility specializes in caring for the elderly and describes the role as an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in residents’ lives.

Employment offers are conditioned on completing and passing a background check and drug test, participating in mandatory vaccine programs and testing requirements (including COVID-19 and TB), and using designated PPE when required.

Requirements

• New York CNA certification.
• Complete and pass a background check and drug test as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Promote resident hygiene and comfort.
• Distribute food and water and feed residents.
• Assist with repositioning and transferring residents.
• Ambulate and transport residents.
• Record and total fluid intake and output.
• Weigh residents.
• Document on flow sheets.
• Assist with admission, discharge, and postmortem care.
• Respond to call lights in a timely manner.
• Perform perineal care and uncomplicated colostomy care.
• Report observations and assessments to the Team Leader, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse.
• Take and record vital signs.
• Make beds and keep residents’ units clean and orderly.
• Prepare rooms for housekeeping after resident discharge.
