About The Position

Balfour Senior Living at Balfour Retirement Community in Louisville, Colorado, is seeking a team-oriented Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). The CNA supports residents with activities of daily living and delivers quality care that encourages independence and promotes each resident’s physical, social, cultural, and intellectual well-being.

The role is part-time, with one of two schedules: 6:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. every Friday and every other weekend, or 2:30 p.m.–10:30 p.m. every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Pay is $23–$25 per hour.

Employment offers are contingent on passing a drug screen, TB test, background check, and physical examination; these pre-employment checks are paid for by the employer. Kisco Senior Living is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Requirements

• State certification and graduation from a state-approved nursing assistant training program.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to communicate openly, honestly, and responsibly with others.
• Ability to maintain a customer focus and treat customers with respect and integrity.
• Ability to read thermometers, charts, and testing equipment.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English.
• Demonstrated time-management skills and ability to prioritize competing demands.
• Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA).
• Meet state training requirements and/or certifications.
• Basic competency using multiple forms of technology, including Microsoft Office applications, internet-based applications, and custom applications.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.

• First Aid certification and CPR, if required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate Balfour service and operational values in every encounter.
• Perform nursing assistant duties, including intake and output, measuring height and weight, taking vital signs, collecting specimens, catheter care, and range-of-motion exercises.
• Accurately document resident information daily on the appropriate forms and records.
• Provide residents’ personal care, including bathing, hygiene, skin and hair care, nail care, dressing, shaving, toileting, transferring, turning and positioning, ambulating, and transporting.
• Recognize changes in residents’ behavior or condition and maintain their environment.
• Assist with residents’ nutritional needs, including serving and feeding, meeting fluid requirements, and offering substitutions when appropriate.
• Monitor food and fluid intake and offer or provide snacks and fluids between meals.
• Care for dying residents and provide postmortem care.
• Follow infection-control guidelines, including handwashing and universal precautions.
• Report infection exposures in accordance with OSHA and Balfour guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Perform duties safely and efficiently, including keeping call lights within residents’ reach and applying physician-ordered restraints when applicable.
• Observe and promptly report changes in residents’ conditions to the care manager, and exchange resident information on an ongoing basis.
• Respond consistently to residents’ needs and call lights, acknowledge residents’ and families’ concerns, and initiate action.
• Protect residents’ privacy and confidentiality and support their right to make personal choices.
• Attend in-service education programs required by Balfour and state and federal guidelines.
