About The Position

As a CNA Trainee at UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health, you will be supported by a team of empathetic and caring leaders, who will help you succeed and advance in your career! This is a PAID CNA Trainee Program where you get paid to get your CNA. The program is 4 weeks long, hosted Monday-Friday from 7a-3p, with mandatory perfect attendance enforced. Upon certification, pay increases. Candidates interested in additional experience can join as a Unit Helper before the program starts, earning the same hourly rate as a student in the class. The program is hosted in Geneva, NY, but upon certification, you can be hired to work at any of their long-term care facilities in Geneva, Waterloo, and Penn Yan, NY. All locations offer part-time and full-time employment with various shifts available.

Requirements

Must be able to read and write English
Current New York State Nurse Aide Certification

Nice To Haves

High school degree or GED
Prior Nursing Assistant and/or LTC experience
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
The ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner.

Responsibilities

Performs direct and indirect designated resident care within the scope of practice as defined by the certification, under the direction of licensed nursing personnel.
