About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the telemetry unit supports patients who require continuous monitoring of their heart and vital signs, including patients with cardiac conditions, post-surgical needs, or other medical issues requiring close monitoring. The CNA provides essential support to patients under cardiac monitoring and works with the nursing team to support their care.

The role is at Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, Texas. The hospital is a 297-bed, non-profit facility providing inpatient and outpatient services to the Rio Grande Valley. The position is full-time, on the day shift, with 12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:00 PM. A $3,500 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates; eligibility and payout terms apply, with details discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire.
• Current BLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

• At least six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Measure and document vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation.
• Observe patients for changes in condition, such as increased discomfort, difficulty breathing, or changes in mental status, and report findings to the RN.
• Observe cardiac monitors and report irregularities to the nursing staff.
• Ensure telemetry leads and equipment are properly placed and functioning.
• Act as a liaison between patients and the nursing team.
