About The Position
The Iowa Veterans Home is looking for a Certified Nurses Aide - Restorative Aide. This position starts at $19.43 per hour. The role involves administering nursing interventions focused on achieving and maintaining the optimal level of functioning for residents, according to their restorative plan of care. This includes assisting residents with their therapeutic treatment plans, which may involve supportive devices, dressing programs, and various physical activities. The aide will also assist residents with dining, report changes in resident condition, complete computerized documentation, and participate in RCC meetings.
Requirements
- Must be a Certified Nurses Aide to qualify for this position.
- No specific education or experience is required.
- Applicants are subject to a Criminal Background Check, Dependent Adult Abuse and Child Abuse Check.
- New hires will be verified through the E-Verify system to ensure authorization to work in the United States.
- Designated positions in this job class require applicants to obtain the required Commercial Drivers License or Chauffeurs License and endorsements within a period of time as determined by the appointing authority at the time of hire.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, administers nursing interventions focused on achieving and maintaining optimal level of functioning, per the resident's restorative plan of care.
- Assists residents with their therapeutic treatment plan, which may include application and/or removal of supportive and assistive devices to resident's extremities; walk to dine; dressing programs; cold packs; hot packs; overhead pulleys; wall pulleys; range of motion activities; restorators; stationary bicycle; massage chair; standing and walking using assistive devices such as canes and walkers.
- Assists residents with dining.
- Reports any changes in resident condition or response to restorative plan of care to Primary Nurse or Nurse Supervisor.
- Completes computerized documentation of resident's attendance and participation.
- Participates in RCC meetings for their assigned units.
