About The Position

Corewell Health is hiring a CNA for its Rehab and Nursing Center–Leffingwell, which provides post-acute rehabilitation care. The facility serves patients with specialties including neuro rehabilitation, traumatic brain injuries, amputations, heart failure, spinal cord injuries, and joint replacements. The center has 80 private rooms and offers an interdisciplinary team and customized therapy programs intended to support patients’ rehabilitation and return home.

The CNA acts as a team member in delivering quality direct patient care. Under the direction of the Unit Manager or a Licensed Nurse, the CNA provides day-to-day care to assigned residents or patients, performs basic skills according to department guidelines, communicates observations to the health care team, and documents care as directed.

This is a full-time, day-shift position with 36 scheduled hours per week. Work hours are 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; days worked and weekend frequency are variable. Corewell Health offers up to a $4,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a State of Michigan-approved CNA training course.
• Michigan Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Community and Health Systems CRT-Nursing Assistant credential within 90 days.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or a Licensed Nurse, consistent with unit policies and procedures.
• Perform basic skills according to department guidelines.
• Communicate observations to members of the health care team.
• Provide day-to-day care to assigned residents or patients, including dressing, bathing, transporting, and feeding.
• Document care provided as directed and in accordance with guidelines.
