About The Position

The CNA-OHS Specialist will maintain an efficient occupational health process, provide first aid care, and partner with training to integrate health and safety education. This role involves obtaining and analyzing drug screen results, performing hearing conservation testing, and providing support for job fairs and pre-employment drug screens. The specialist will also assist with communicable/occupational disease activities, ensure database accuracy, and handle administrative duties such as scheduling physical therapy appointments. Recordkeeping, including scanning, documenting, and ordering medical supplies, is also a key function. The position requires adherence to company policies and procedures, regular and punctual attendance, and the ability to provide backup support for various health-related services including occupational illness/injury care, health assessments, return-to-work evaluations, and coordinating medical transportation. The role also involves tracking and communicating return-to-work status and performing additional duties as requested by the supervisor. The position description is not exhaustive and duties may change or new duties may be assigned. Maintaining a collaborative relationship with other departments and co-workers is essential.

Requirements

  • CNA, CMA, or Medical Assistant.
  • Ability to provide support to the members of the care team (teamwork)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Excellent communication and relational skills required
  • Must be able to work independently with little direction/supervision
  • Must be adaptable and capable of absorbing new concepts and situations rapidly
  • Must be willing to learn everything about our business

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in either an employee health clinic, occupational health setting
  • Bilingual
  • CAOHC Certified, First Aid & BLS, HIPAA certification, Blood Borne Pathogen certification

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an efficient occupational health process appropriate to the needs of our organization
  • Provide first aid care as directed under OHS policies & procedures
  • Partner with training to Include health and safety education in all areas of worker involvement.
  • Obtaining, analyzing and documenting drug screen results.
  • Perform baseline and annual hearing conservation testing.
  • Back up support for job fairs; pre-employment drug screens.
  • Lead and assist team members on SMART committee
  • Assist with communicable/occupational disease activities such as (testing, triage, symptoms check, tracing, etc.)
  • Ensure all databases are accurate and precise
  • Admin duties-Scheduling physical therapy follow up appointments, ensuring team members attend scheduled sessions.
  • Recordkeeping-Scanning, documenting, obtaining medical records. Inventory and ordering medical supplies
  • Executes duties and maintains standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to be at work regularly and on time.
  • Provide back up for observation, care, and counsel of team members with occupational illness or injuries, including first aid, follow-up care, rehabilitation service, and case management
  • Provide back up to schedule and/or perform health assessments and evaluate team members for return to work, fitness for duty, and medical surveillance according to policies, safety protocols and the authorized physician's written directive
  • Provide back up to coordinate transportation for team members in need of medical care to external appointments
  • Review, track and communicate with team members and necessary departments regarding return-to-work status
  • Perform all additional duties requested by the supervisor on an "as needed" basis.
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with other departments and co-workers.
  • Other duties as assigned
