About The Position

Provides personal nursing care to patients under the direction of a licensed registered nurse (RN). Performs tasks associated with activities of daily living, including self-care needs, and reports patients’ status and concerns to the RN. The role is at Adventist Health Reedley, a 49-bed acute care hospital serving the Central Valley alongside 60 clinics in 27 rural communities.

Requirements

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy is required.
• Associates must receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply.

Nice To Haves

• High school education, GED, or equivalent is preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification is preferred in California and Hawaii.
• Audiometry and vision training, or a certificate from CHDP, is preferred in California and Hawaii.

Responsibilities

• Performs activities of daily living tasks, including assisting with nutrition and hydration, elimination, personal care, positioning devices, restraints, and restorative care.
• Takes vital signs, including pulse and blood pressure.
• Helps patients with basic needs such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
• Performs clerical duties, including routing patient reports as appropriate.
• Uses organizational and prioritization skills to keep the unit running smoothly and meet deadlines.
• Provides assessment data to a certified nurse within the scope of practice, including vital signs and patient verbal and nonverbal responses.
• Reports patients’ status and concerns to the RN.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
