About The Position
The Certified Nursing Assistants provides direct and indirect nursing care under the direction of a RN and in accordance with policies and procedures. The 6th Floor Medical Surgical department at St. Anthony Hospital is a medical surgical floor specializing in trauma, surgery, and oncology with 36 beds. Primarily, we care for trauma patients with blunt abdominal/chest traumas after car accidents, falls, and mountain activities such as skiing, mountain biking and hiking injuries. We care for patients requiring mostly abdominal surgeries including appendectomies, colon resections, hernia repairs and serve as the overflow for orthopedic trauma patients including those with hip fractures and tib/fib fractures. We care for cancer patients, administering chemotherapy and treating neutropenics, accounting for about 10% of our current patient load. Being a part of a Magnet® designated hosoital, our mission is to provide the highest level of nursing care in a compassionate manner in order to improve our patients’ lives. Requirements
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Basic computer skills
- High School diploma or GED required
- Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Program required
- State registered CNA license required
Nice To Haves
- Six months previous CNA experience preferred
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training preferred.
