CNA - Hospice Aide (Full Time)
About The Position
Suncrest Hospice, part of LHC Group and the Optum family of businesses, provides home health, hospice, and community-based services. The Home Hospice CNA/Aide supports clients in their homes by assisting with personal hygiene and household functions so they can remain at home. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and requires driving to visit patients in the community. The role offers an hourly pay range of $16.00 to $23.85, based on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. Benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Requirements
- Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or access to public transportation.
- For Tennessee applicants: successful completion of 75 hours of training, including 16 hours of clinical training, before or during the first three months of employment. Training qualifies the aide to provide basic services, including simple procedures as an extension of therapy services, personal care related to nutritional needs, ambulation and exercise, and household services essential to health care at home.
- Pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Nice To Haves
- Current CPR certification or ability to complete it within 90 days of hire.
- At least six months of home care experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours and independently.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assist with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, ambulation, and medication reminders.
- Support household tasks and meal preparation, and accompany clients to appointments or errands as needed.
- Monitor and document client condition, vital signs, and incidents; maintain confidentiality and use the EVV system.
- Help ensure a safe environment, operate medical equipment properly, and respond promptly to client needs.
- Function in any home situation regardless of the client's age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
