About The Position
Valley View Home Health, part of LHC Group and the Optum family of businesses, provides home health, hospice, and community-based services. The Home Health Aide or CNA provides in-home personal care and designated health-related services to help maintain patients’ physical and emotional well-being. The role involves delivering care in patients’ homes and supporting people through their health journeys with personalized care and trusted relationships. The position requires a current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or access to public transportation. CPR certification and home care experience are preferred. The role offers hourly pay ranging from $13.00 to $20.00, based on full-time employment and factors such as local labor markets, education, experience, and certifications. Candidates must pass a drug test before beginning employment.
Requirements
- Current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or access to public transportation.
Nice To Haves
- Current CPR certification or ability to complete it within 90 days of hire.
- At least 6 months of home care experience.
- Ability to work flexible hours and independently.
Responsibilities
- Provide or assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, hair care, oral and denture care, nail filing, skin care, and peri care.
- Assist with transferring patients between beds, chairs, and wheelchairs, and with transfers on and off bedpans, commodes, and toilets.
- Report observations of the client’s condition to the agency director or accounts manager.
- Drive safely, follow traffic regulations, and wear a seat belt when business travel is required.
- Assist with household tasks directly essential to clients’ personal care.
- Provide care in any home situation regardless of the client’s age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
