About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring CNAs and HHAs at The Residence at Pearl Street. This role involves providing for the needs of elders, including personal care, therapeutic programming, safety, and emotional support, in a manner that upholds their dignity, independence, choice, and individuality. The duties include delivering services as outlined in each resident's approved service plan. The position promotes the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living, and associates are expected to contribute to community occupancy growth by positively representing the community to potential residents, families, and professionals. Successful completion of community and state orientation training is required. Responsibilities include assisting residents with medications, engaging them in meaningful interactions and activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, mobility), monitoring for changes in resident needs and reporting them, assisting with clothing and laundry, assisting residents with bedtime routines, helping residents maintain neat and orderly living spaces, responding promptly to emergency calls, participating in ongoing in-service training, escorting residents to meals and activities, documenting services provided (including incidents, behaviors, and refusals) in the community computer system, and conducting/facilitating programming for cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection. Other duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Must have completed the course for certified nursing assistant or have equivalent training or experience as required by State Regulation.
  • Must have CPR and First Aide training as mandated by the State employed.
  • Prior experience providing direct care or the equivalent in training preferred.
  • Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia is preferred.
  • Current license/certification as required by State Regulation.
  • Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing or demonstrate the ability to learn data input.
  • Ability to use computer for documenting services provided.
  • Fluent in the ability to communicate in the English language, both oral and written.

  • Prior experience providing direct care or the equivalent in training.
  • Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia.

Responsibilities

  • Provide for the needs of elders, including personal care, therapeutic programming, safety, and emotional support.
  • Deliver services as written on the approved service plan for each resident.
  • Represent and interact positively with potential residents, family members, and professionals to grow community occupancy.
  • Assist residents with medications according to State Regulation and LCB Policies, making required record entries and notifications.
  • Actively engage residents in meaningful interactions and experiences.
  • Provide assistance, encouragement, and restorative interventions for residents' activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, mobility).
  • Take initiative in engaging in group and individual engagement.
  • Monitor for changes in resident needs, preferences, and health status and report/document them to the RN or designee.
  • Assist residents with clothing and laundry needs as per the service plan.
  • Assist residents in going to bed at night, when necessary.
  • Assist residents with keeping their units neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Answer emergency calls and attend to residents' needs promptly.
  • Participate in the community's regularly scheduled on-going in-service training programs.
  • Participate in specialized staff training programs and mandatory education requirements dictated by State Regulation upon request.
  • Assist with escorting residents to meals and engagement as needed or directed.
  • Document scheduled and unscheduled services provided, including incidents, behaviors, and out-of-the-ordinary events, and residents' refusal of services.
  • Input information into the community computer tracking system regarding services provided to residents.
  • Conduct and facilitate programming, including therapeutic groups and individual interaction, that offer cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
